Tato řasa je neškodná a vaší orchideji nijak neubližuje. Nicméně značí, že zaléváte příliš často a substrát nestačí prosychat, což sice skvěle svědčí řase, nicméně kořeny orchideje ohrožuje hnilobou. Pokud se vám tedy tato řasa začne v květináči tvořit, prodlužte dobu mezi jednotlivými zálivkami tak, aby substrát vždy důkladně proschnul. Já si třeba upřímně myslím, že takový mech nemusí být vždycky nutně na škodu. Když jsem u sebe v květináčích narazila na mechové okraje, vnuklo mi to nápad si tím mechem vyzdobit i pergolu. Ale říkala jsem si, že by s tím byla spousta práce a navíc kdo ví, jaký by z toho vyšel výsledek. Řekla bych, že jsem přišla na kompromis, když jsem si koupila mechové hodiny . Mechové hodiny kulaté mi přišly lepší, než ty obdélníkové, ale záleží samozřejmě na preferenci a typu vaší pergoly.
